Administration interface: Effective and convenient management

You can use the new administration interface to configure your systems and conveniently manage the portfolio. The user data and contact lists can also be administered with the new tool. This offers distinct benefits for the efficiency of your everyday work, since you now can complete all tasks comprehensively in VCOM.

The administration interface can be accessed by means of the wrench icon in the menu bar or by pressing the "S" (Settings) key. If you are at system level, the interface for system-based settings opens.

VCOM is evolving into a central portal for systems and portfolios of all sizes. Upgrading from safer'Sun Professional to this modern platform will make it even easier and more efficient than ever to monitor PV systems. We would be pleased to provide you with demo logins so that you can test VCOM with your systems.

New alarms: User-defined alarms and string monitoring

Alerting is an essential function in our portals and something we endeavor to continually enhance and improve. Alarm management in VCOM is optimized by two new alarms:

The user-defined alarm allows individual data trails to be monitored. Minimum and maximum values as well as permitted ranges can be defined as criteria. The custom configuration means, for example, that the check-up can be configureated for performing during the day, only.

The new string monitoring groups the individual strings for each string combiner box. A maximum deviation from the average is defined, which must not be exceeded. Administrators can exclude individual string combiner boxes from monitoring if required.

Expansion of the compatibility list: Solar Log and Fronius import

We have extended the compatibility list.
Now it also includes direct  imports for Solar Log devices and the Fronius Data Manager 2.0. The data for these devices can therefore be sent directly to the portal.

The full compatibility list is available here for downloading.

meteocontrol: Monitoring for 18 MWp power plant in Japan

meteocontrol is extending its market presence in Japan with a major project. We are supplying the tailored monitoring system as a turnkey solution for the 18 MWp solar park planned by Advantec Co. Ltd.: project management, monitoring design and commissioning included. The solar park is being built in Kirishima, a city located at the northern end of the Kagoshima Bay in southern Japan.

Ten monitoring stations with blue’Log X-6000 data loggers and 300 string combiner boxes with interfaces to inverters and sensors will then ensure the highest quality and reliability of data recording, monitoring and control. meteocontrol is already supporting Advantec during the planning phase and is developing the monitoring system in accordance with the company’s exact needs and the park’s layout. The technical operation management will be handled by Advantec using the VCOM portal.
