NEW IN OUR REGIONS

New cellar/cocktail package at Domaine Acer

In addition to offering tours of their wine cellars, the owners of Domaine Acer, a maple economuseum in Auclair, now offer a cellar/cocktail package. This experience combines a guided tour with a tasting of their maple wines and gourmet maple products, including a cocktail made with some of the alcoholic beverages produced on site. The tasting takes place on a patio set up between the economuseum’s rustic wooden buildings.

Renovations at Auberge du Lièvre
Société Duvetnor has recently renovated the 9 rooms (with private bathroom) in Auberge du Lièvre on Île aux Lièvres (Hare Island). Each room can accommodate a maximum of two guests. The inn’s reception building houses a brand-new lobby with armchairs as well as the dining room. A package is available that includes round-trip ferry rides from Rivière-du-Loup to the island and three meals for every 24-hour stay.

New gourmet grocery store at Vieux Loup de Mer
Vieux Loup de Mer offers 15 unique wooden chalets that showcase the charm and character of various traditional Québec dwellings. New this year, the Garde-Manger, a gourmet grocery store housed in the reception building, offers a selection of products and prepared meals made by regional food artisans and restaurants.

Deep-sea fishing excursions
An extraordinary experience awaits you in Matane, in Gaspésie, with Destination Haute-Mer. Board a charter boat and go sea fishing for mackerel, striped bass, cod or other groundfish. You can also observe marine mammals during your trip. Enjoy unforgettable moments on the St. Lawrence with your captains and guides!

Percé seen from the sky
You can now fly over the magnificent Percé area in a helicopter with Hélico Horizon Gaspésie. Mario Bélisle and his team will be happy to introduce you to the majestic panoramic scenery of the Gaspé Peninsula from the air, from Chaleur Bay to Forillon. The takeoff site is 6 km (4 mi.) from the centre of Percé.

Updated exhibition: Paspébiac 1886
The Site historique national de Paspébiac has a new name, a new logo and an updated exhibition that focuses on the people who contributed to the rich cultural history of this exceptional site, namely its inhabitants. Since 2020, the permanent exhibition has complemented the 11 buildings dating from the 19th century that make up the Paspébiac national historic site. Throughout the exhibition, historical characters, interpretation panels and period photos tell the story of the cod fishery, the local shipbuilding industry and the lives of the residents of Paspébiac at that time.

New Exploramer boat
Exploramer is an activities complex focused on the marine environment of the St. Lawrence. Its new boat, the C-E Marin Exploramer, accommodates 31 passengers, including one in a wheelchair. This new vessel allows Exploramer to offer science-themed sea excursions from late June to early October. Discover the marine biodiversity of the St. Lawrence as you learn about sustainable fishing and test your fishing skills.

New glamping option offered by Parks Canada in our regions
Forillon National Park and the Mingan Archipelago National Park Reserve now offer a memorable glamping experience in their brand-new Ôasis units, which are perfect for a nature getaway. These unusual accommodations in the shape of a water droplet feature a table that converts into a bed on the main floor and a suspended hammock loft above. In addition, a brand-new Visitor Information and Discovery Centre opened in the North Area of Forillon National Park in 2021, offering a permanent exhibition, screenings of the film A Gem at Land’s End, a Parks Canada shop and a restaurant.

VIP whale-watching cruise with Croisières AML
Croisières AML is now offering a distinctive whale-watching experience in their VIP lounge aboard the AML Grand Fleuve, which departs from Tadoussac. VIP passes includes priority boarding and access to a private glassed-in lounge offering panoramic views of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, one of the best places in the world to observe marine mammals.

Expansion of the Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre (CIMM)
The Marine Mammal Interpretation Centre (CIMM) in Tadoussac is expanding to make room for four new whale skeletons in an exhibition that is already the largest collection of mounted whale skeletons in Canada. The public will soon be able to take a close look at giant skeletons of a fin whale, humpback and right whale as well as an 11,000-year-old beluga fossil. In 2022, the CIMM screening room will be transformed into a brand-new immersive room that will feature a new show about beluga whales.

New ship for CTMA
CTMA operates the ferry service between Prince Edward Island and the Îles de la Madeleine. Its new ship, the MV Madeleine II, was first launched in the summer of 2021. Built in 2018, this ferry is equipped with the latest technology and will offer passengers a more pleasant trip year-round since it is designed to navigate in ice-covered waters. In addition, the new ship has a capacity of 300 cars and 1500 passengers, almost double that of its predecessor, the Madeleine I, which could accommodate only 190 cars and 772 passengers.

New at Château Madelinot
Château Madelinot is now open year-round. The hotel is also continuing to renovate its rooms, 75% of which have been completely revamped (out of a total of 116 rooms). The hotel also welcomes guests in a completely renovated lobby and reception area. It is now possible to access the Accents Resto Bistro directly, since the restaurant now has its own entrance separate from the hotel’s.
