Revolutionary RoXplorer® now ready for licencing

Following the successful second field trial of the RoXplorer®, reported in our July edition, the coil tube drill rig is now ready for licencing and potential commercialisation later this year.

The second field trial undertaken by the Deep Exploration Technologies Cooperative Research Centre (DET CRC) was put through its paces during May and June just outside the regional centre of Horsham in Western Victoria. This second field trial followed previous collaborative efforts between the Geological Survey of Victoria, Geoscience Australia and the DET CRC as part of the Stavely stratigraphic drilling program completed in 2014.

Read DET CRC's latest media release to learn how this revolutionary new drill rig could revitalise Australia’s mining industry.

Minister for Resources visits Fosterville Gold Mine

In early August, Victoria's Minister for Resources Wade Noonan visited Kirkland Lake Gold’s Fosterville Gold Mine (Victoria’s largest producing gold mine) near Bendigo, to see how its extensive gold exploration program is going, following the award of a TARGET Round 2 mineral exploration grant.

The Minister's visit follows Fosterville’s recent record gold production and announcement of a more than doubling of its estimated underground gold reserves.

To learn more read the Minister's media release.
