What Will 2014 Bring? by Pam Hess

This is reprinted from our last edition of the American Patriot News.  Pam is our editor and does a great job helping to get this paper out every two weeks.

In just a few short weeks 2014 will ring in, people will be celebrating and for a few short moments it will seem like old times.  But the reality is things are not the same as they used to be.
We have a President that netted three of the ten “Biggest Pinocchios of 2013” awards.  The man would not know the truth if it walked up and slapped him.  This same man, while raised in foreign countries, has no allegiance or love for this country.  So we can not depend on him doing anything good for us.
We have mid-term elections in November 2014.  Many Senate seats are up for grabs and it is up to us to make sure we get conservatives in there.  We have had some successes and we have been burnt by some but we must continue to fight for our country!
The crystal ball says it is up to the TEA PARTY to make a difference.  Why do you think John Boehner is so afraid of us?  “They are not fighting for conservative principles,” Mr. Boehner told rank-and-file House Republicans. Mr. Boehner didn’t have any problem with the Tea Party helping him become speaker of the house in 2010.  Now he wants the Republican Party to distance themselves from the Tea Party.  The first move is the redoing of the presidental primary system to make it more difficult for tea party canidates to win the Republican nomination.  Phase two is Boehner separating his members from the outside groups.  So we have the Republican Party fighting over who is the big dog in the fight.  The old school Republican Party that sold their souls to the devil years ago or the new Republicans that are trying to save the country.
Now I am no rocket scientist but I do have a little common sense. The “old school Republicans” have helped make a mess of this country so let’s shake things up a bit.  We can even call the “new Republicans” something else.  But the “old school” needs to go!  So not only are we fighting the Democrats; we are also fighting the “old school” Republicans. CRAZY!
It is going to be up to the Tea Party and other conservative groups to “play” the Republican Party's game…and we must play to win!  Our freedom is at stake.  Sound drastic?  Think back to the year 2000.  How much has this country changed?
We need all of you to get involved and help us.  There is much work to be done before the elections and it all starts in January. Come to our Tea Party meeting and see how you can make a difference!

KrisAnne Hall - Restoring Liberty Recap

KrisAnne Hall was our guest speaker at our December 12th meeting.  She gave a great motivational talk on how we can work toward "restoring liberty for future generations". Some of the topics she covered were:

1) keeping the proper perspective 2) identify and educte candidates 3) focus on liberty first, not security 4) pay attention to local and state offices....  If you missed our meeting, you can learn the principles from her book:  "Liberty First, The Path to Restoring America".  Go to her website:  www.krisannehall.com  to order her books.  Visit her site frequently; she updates her blog with current information that is valuable for all of us.  Like her on Facebook for more information.  We really appreciate her taking time out of her busy schedule to speak to us.

We held our drawing on the 12th and Butch Kitchens of Lake City won the $500 VISA gift card.  Thanks to everyone who helped with this endeavor!

Branford Chili Cookoff from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

We are thinking about having a booth for this event.  It is a great way to hand out copies of the American Patriot Newspaper, info on our group, etc.  If you can help with a booth, i.e. make chili, man the booth, etc.  please let Sharon know at 386-935-0821; for more information on the Chili Cookoff, call John at 386-935-1705.

Also, on January 11th The Florida Stop Common Core Coalition will be holding an Anti-Common Core Summit in Lakeland.  For more information on this event, go to:  Anti-Common Core Summit    Also:  http://www.flstopcccoalition.org/ for more information on this group.  Common Core is a very big issue and we need to keep our attention on it!  Our group and other tea parties in the area have asked Representative Porter to co-sponsor HB 25 which will slow down/pause Common Core legislation in Florida until more research is done on the effects this will have.  I wrote a letter to the editor expressing my concerns with Representative Porter.  You can read both my letter and her response to me (they were published in the Suwannee Democrat) at our blog:  http://northcentralflorida912project.org/our-blog/  I would appreciate any feedback you might have.

Article V Convention (Con-Con) at our next Meeting

Keith Dunn of the John Birch Society will be our guest speaker at our January 9th meeting.  He will be speaking on the dangers of an Article V Convntion (Con-Con).  There is a big push right now to convene a convention and make our representatives do what is right    But...there are many pitfalls to this "solution".  Please invite your family and friends out for this meeting!  The John Birch Society puts out a wealth of information/action items on many areas that are affecting our country today.  Ever since it’s founding in 1958 by Robert Welch, The John Birch Society has been dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the United States Constitution.  As Robert Welch himself explained, Members of The John Birch Society are united by a strong belief in personal freedom and limited government, plus a sense of duty, members of The John Birch Society have educated millions of Americans on the appropriate role of government. Using educational and concerted action tools of a wide variety - including local lobbying, distribution of literature, email campaigns, news conferences, petitions, and more - members have played a continuous, pivotal role in halting legislation and federal policies that threaten the independence of our country and our people.  Read more about the John Birch Society in the next edition of the American Patriot News.  Also, go to: http://www.jbs.org/legislation/the-article-v-convention-scam  for a great article on the Article V Convention.
