Dining Alfresco this summer

Bury Lane Deli

Love eating outdoors and looking for some inspiration for that perfect picnic or sizzling BBQ?

Alison, from our deli counter, recommends some firm favourites to please the whole family:

  • Bury Lane Homemade Scotch Eggs - plain, chilli or black pudding
  • Bury Lane Homemade Sausage rolls
  • Fresh smoked salmon
  • As an accompaniment, Bury Lane Homemade coleslaw and potato salad

Along with our extensive ranges of pastry products, cheeses and cold meats, olives and antipasti - there is plenty to please everyone.

And to be quintessentially British - finish off with fruit scones made by Bury Lane Bakery, our own strawberry jam and clotted cream - delicious.  Animal shaped cookies for the children - you won't want to share the scones with them!

And here's a couple of nice ideas for the BBQ:

  • Raw tiger prawns from our fishmongers
  • BBQ packs of Lemon & Pepper Pork Steak

Happy eating in the sunshine.

Thirst Quenching Ideas

Bury Lane Drinks

  • It's Summer - it's cider time!.  As a huge supporter of local produce and producers, we are delighted to now be stocking a selection of Ciders and Perries from The Cambridge Cider Company.  The fruit is not sprayed, the cider does not contain concentrate and has greater than 95% juice.  Just what you need on a warm afternoon or evening.

  • At great value - only £15.99, we have a magnums of Argentinian 2014 Shiraz Malbec.  Named Lunaris, as the grapes are harvested during the fullest lunar cycle due to the belief that the fruit and leaves offer their best potential.

  • Just down the road from Bury Lane, we are lucky to have Cam Valley Orchards. Their apple juice has an amazing flavour and we stock a number of varieties and we also use it in our cafe.  If you like apple juice, you just have to try it!

Let's get Pickling

Bury Lane Farm Shop Preserves Chutneys and Cordial Making

THE ORIGINAL KILNER® JAR

The Kilner business was first established by John Kilner in the 1840's in England producing glass bottles and jars.  The Kilner® Jar was first invented at the end of the 19th century and the jar is as much-loved and successful now as it was 120 years ago.

Its long-lasting popularity is owed to its distinctive pressure seal and iconic design.

We love Kilner® Jars and bottles here at Bury Lane and have a whole section in our cook shop dedicated to preserving jars, bottles, labels and equipment.  Whether for yourself or as a gift, it's a lovely way to present your preserves, pickles, chutneys, jams....

We "cordially" invite you to come and "relish" our range and to offer you any help or advice where needed.
