However, we encourage anyone who would like to receive this communication directly, to subscribe below. We are proud and immensely grateful to every one of you for what you have achieved in very difficult circumstances. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and may this festive season bring you closer to all that you treasure in your heart. LMC Elections 2024The following LMC constituencies are due for re-election in March 2024: Basildon - Billericay, Brentwood & Wickford - Colchester - Epping - Tendring - Thurrock Nominations will be sought during January and if the number of nominations for any constituency exceeds the number of places available, an election will be held. To ensure that all eligible GPs are included in the nomination/election process, we need to know the names and contractual status of all GPs working at each practice in these constituencies. We do not require details for GP trainees or any GPs that work in more than one area and have chosen to be represented elsewhere in Essex. Only those GPs that have submitted their details will be eligible to seek nomination and vote in LMC elections. Cameron Fund Christmas Appeal Letter 2023On behalf of the Cameron Fund Treasurer, Dr Ian Winterton, we have received the Cameron Fund Christmas Appeal letter for 2023. We would be very grateful if Practice Managers could distribute the letter to all GPs at the practice. Updated document - Wellbeing ResourcesGPC continue to encourage practices to focus on their own team’s wellbeing and take time to reflect on what can be done to protect it. They have produced some wellbeing resources which include some tools for improving workload and safe working. A range of wellbeing and support services are also available to doctors, from the BMA’s counselling and peer support services, NHS practitioner health service, Samaritans and Doctors in Distress. See also our poster with 10 tips to help maintain and support wellbeing. This information has now been included in our GP Support document. CQC New Assessment FrameworkCQC has started using their new assessment approach across the South region. This is part of a staged rollout and over the next few months, they will start using their new assessment approach in other parts of the country. From 9 January 2024, assessments start for all registered providers in the London and East of England region. GP Practice Workforce DataUsing data from NHS Digital, we now provide workforce data for Essex GP Practices, and male/female GP ratio documents, both commencing from November 2022. Appointments in General PracticeThrough NHS Digital, we are able to obtain data on appointments that have taken place in general practice across Essex. The data that we can extrapolate is useful for us to see how many appointments have been offered in a month, and how many patients were seen face to face for example. We now produce appointment data flyers that can be displayed in your practice. Please see below for more information. Do you need help with PCSE cases?Have you waited for more than 40 days for a response from PCSE for a case raised with them? Are you experiencing financial hardship as a result? Or, is there a risk to patient safety? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then the LMC can help you. |
