I'm excited to again pitch our ideas for both workshops and breakout tables at the Christian Alliance For Orphans Summit, May 9-11 in Louisville, KY.
In 2018, I co-moderated a panel with BraveLove of Texas called "Understanding the Life and Heart of a Birth Mother" and led a coaching breakout session addressing the reality of living an open adoption.

Our goal is to help people to see adoption as an option for women facing unplanned pregnancy.

Heartwarming Adoption Story

Martin Schmidt, who was adopted as an infant, reached out to find his biological parents, Dave Lindgren and Michele Newman. The couple hadn’t spoken for decades before their firstborn reconnected them. He was the officiant at their wedding Aug. 4 in Marshfield, Wis. Thank goodness for today's open adoptions!! Why are we doing this?
Young women are 50% MORE likely to make an adoption plan when the trusted adult in their life suggests it to them. Otherwise, most girls don't give it a thought, and choose between abortion or single parenting. That's why we need to get this on the radar of more people.

We promote adoption as a positive option for those facing unplanned pregnancies. It can be so very good (and beautiful!) for all involved.

Unplanned Good is reaching out to both teens and their parents, to let them know that adoption is an option. Studies have shown that girls are 50% more likely to see their pregnancy through and make an adoption plan when an adult suggests this path.
