Welcome to the July newsletter

Dear ,

The new term may not have started yet but we have lots of news and alumni success stories to share with you.

You will have seen from our recent e-shot, that our new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Charles Egbu, will be starting in November. Professor Egbu will return to Leeds, a city in which he studied and taught. He was previously Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Experience at the University of East London.

The National Student Survey results were published recently, and we are delighted to have been voted Top in Yorkshire for Learning Community. 80% of Leeds Trinity students said they felt part of a community of staff and students and had opportunities to work with other students as part of their course. Overall, the institution achieved a satisfaction score of 81%, with six subject areas achieving high levels of overall satisfaction above the sector average.

Featured alumni - Matthew Broadley

Matthew studied two courses at Leeds Trinity. The day he started the PE and Sports Development course in 2016 was actually the first day he set foot on campus! He stayed on another year to complete the Psychology Conversion MSc, in 2019.

Whilst at Leeds Trinity, Matthew represented England Universities as well as volunteering twice in Fiji. Matthew is currently a PE Cover Supervisor and Semi-Professional Footballer.

"My favourite memories at Leeds Trinity though, are through my involvement with the Men’s Football Club, who were (and still are) like a family. I will never forget the experience of winning the League twice with the Men’s First Team, alongside my best mates!"
