Getting money for your energy upgrade just became easier

A new online directory makes it easier for your business to access funds for energy efficiency projects.

Under the Energy Savings Scheme, eligible projects can have tradeable certificates generated by Accredited Certificate Providers (ACPs) based on the reduction in carbon dioxide emissions delivered through the project.

For many businesses, the easiest way to access these certificates to help fund their project is through an Accredited Certificate Provider.

The ACP Directory has been established to help businesses locate a suitable ACP by location, industry sector and project technology type.

Some projects, in particular lighting, can have certificates deemed for ten years upfront, significantly reducing the cost of an upgrade project.

Click here to search for an ACP near you. Existing ACPs can also register to be listed in the directory.

Improve the business case for your energy project with best practice measurement and verification

A new training course has been developed to help you better understand best practice measurement and verification techniques under the Energy Savings Scheme.

Recently introduced to the scheme, the Project Impact Assessment with Measurement and Verification methodology is designed to create a greater financial incentive for organisations to implement a wider range of energy efficiency projects than was previously available.

This method is fast becoming the standard pre-requisite for accessing private and public funding for energy efficiency projects around the world, and the training course is designed to be a practical guide in applying this method to ‘real-world’ projects.

The full day course is best suited for those interested in improving the business case for energy efficiency projects under the Energy Savings Scheme.

Courses take place in Sydney on 12 May, 4 and 11 June. Click here for more information.

New online tool to help you claim Energy Savings Certificates

Businesses can now claim Energy Savings Certificates for a greater range of energy efficiency projects with the help of a new online tool.

Developed by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, the new online tool helps businesses use the new Project Impact Assessment with Measurement and Verification (PIAM&V) method for creating certificates. This method is designed to expand the number and type of energy efficiency projects that can generate certificates.

The tool is a Microsoft Excel template with in-built calculation formulas, and is designed to be completed progressively throughout the measurement and verification process.

The new tool, and accompanying user guide, can be found here.

Recognition for two energy efficient businesses in The Daily Telegraph

Two NSW businesses who were assisted by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage to become more energy efficient were recently recognised in The Daily Telegraph’s Fair Go for the West campaign.

Bakers Maison in Revesby and Doulman Automotive Services in Auburn were each awarded a $10,000 grant as part of the awards, which recognise innovation and great work being done in the western Sydney community.

Our congratulations to Bakers Maison and Doulman for the well-deserved recognition. You can read more about their energy efficiency journey here and here.

We welcome your feedback and suggestions for future editions.
