Click here Hi there, News that Indian IT services company Infosys has increased investment in the Australian market with plans for 1,200 new staff and three ‘Innovation Hubs’, can only be good for employment and jobs growth. But it’s also shining the light again on the issue of skills shortages. Reports suggest demand for ICT workers in Australia is set to grow by almost 100,000 by 2023 – or 20,000 a year on average – against fewer than 5,000 domestic grads a year. But word from some in the industry is that despite the skills shortages, grads often still struggle to find work, with companies wanting staff with experience. Infosys' announcement includes plans to use grads to fill 40 percent of the new positions and invest heavily in their training. It is something that more companies should be considering if the gap is ever to be bridged. In other news:
