Arts Victoria Client Survey – the results are in
Each year Arts Victoria conducts a survey to measure how effective we are at meeting the needs of one of our key ‘client’ groups – artists and organisations that apply for grants.
Conducted anonymously online, all artists and arts organisations that apply for funding in a given financial year, whether they are successful or unsuccessful, are invited to take part.
The survey provides applicants with the opportunity to comment on key areas including, contact with Arts Victoria staff, grant application and assessment procedures and the effectiveness of our communications resources (including eNews).
The 2011 results are now available on the Arts Victoria website.
In addition to gathering feedback on Arts Victoria activities, each year, the Survey also provides an opportunity to examine an area of interest to the arts sector. In 2011, we chose to focus on social media, which has become an important tool for many artists and arts organisations. The findings included:
-
Three quarters of respondents (74%) reported that they use social media as part of their professional or business related activities.
-
Facebook is the most commonly used platform (by 71%).
-
The majority of respondents reported that they engage with social media for marketing and promotional activities (69%).
On that note – Arts Victoria has a Facebook page, ‘like’ us to get a daily dose of what’s on in the arts in Victoria and a first look at opportunities as they arise.
