Today marks 55 years since Uganda gained its independence. Over the years, the East African nation has had its fair share of political upheaval. Similarly, its economy has seen many changes but despite some ups and downs there have been some positive trends. Sarah Logan explores the economic gains of recent years while remaining cognisant of the challenges.
