20th ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATION

SEPTEMBER 11th REMEMBRANCE

Once again, the September 11th monument, a 12-foot-high and 5-foot-wide piece of art created by West Palm Beach artist Mark Fuller, will be the setting for the Town of Juno Beach's Annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony. The monument is located on Ocean Drive near Town Hall and the Juno Beach Police Department Headquarters.

The 9/11 Memorial Event is an annual commemoration ceremony and a tribute of remembrance, honoring the 2,977 people killed and thousands injured at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Somerset County, Pennsylvania, as well as the six people killed in the World Trade Center bombing on February 26, 1993.

This year's event will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 11th when Chief of Police Brian Smith will call for a Moment of Silence. The guest speaker, retired Inspector James Coan (Commanding Officer of the NYPD Aviation Unit), will reflect on the events of September 11, 2001.

"It is important that we remember this day, and honor and pay tribute to the victims on this national day of service and remembrance," said Chief of Police Brian Smith.

We hope that numerous residents of the Town of Juno Beach will come out and help us commemorate the 20th Anniversary of this tragic day in our countries history.

IF YOU WILL BE TRAVELLING BY CAR THIS SUMMER

The Juno Beach Police Foundation reminds you that Florida law requires you to Move Over — when you can safely do so — for stopped law enforcement, emergency, sanitation, utility service vehicles, and tow trucks or wreckers.

If you can't move over — or when on a two-lane road — slow to a speed that is 20 mph below the posted speed limit. Slow down to 5 mph when the posted speed limit is 20 mph or less.

When you fail to Move Over, you put yourself and others at risk.

When stopped by a Police Officer, you may be issued a ticket and have to pay a steep fine. More seriously, you could crash into an emergency vehicle or strike an emergency worker, causing serious injury or death. You could injure or kill another person or yourself.

IT'S VACATION TIME FOR MANY...

We wish you all the best for your vacation. May all the happiness of the world embrace you and we hope that you have unlimited fun with no boundaries.
