Strengthening social cohesion: Meeting community needs
A closer look at improving services for multicultural communities
The findings of a recent report by the Victorian Multicultural Commission have revealed valuable insights into how we better support multicultural communities to reach their potential.
Strengthening Social Cohesion: Meeting Community Needs details the results of the Commission’s consultations with service providers and peak bodies across metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria in 2015.
Aimed at gathering the voices of a wide range of organisations, the Commission sought their feedback in consultations that included at a major event in Melbourne and two forums in Narre Warren and Bendigo.
As experts working on the frontline, organisations were asked to detail their experiences through four key topics concerned with the role of services in assisting integration and social cohesion with multicultural communities.
