AskIT improvements coming thanks to staff feedback

Since launching on 11 July, ITS have received helpful feedback from staff on the usability of the AskIT portal. As a result ITS are making a few changes that staff will notice shortly.

  • A new landing page to navigate to the right area in the AskIT portal more easily - this will be available later today.
  • New categories and clearer names for services in the Service Catalogue.
  • Better email communications with more distinguishable subject lines.

Staff are encouraged to keep providing feedback on the portal, as it will continue to improve over time to better service staff needs.

The road map for AskIT in 2017

The underlying technology of the portal will change in April 2017 (from Flash to HTML5). The new technology is expected to provide more control over the visual display of the portal.

Another piece of work taking place next year will be the development of the shopping cart, so that staff can order technology in one place.
