January 23, 2019 Happening This WeekSLIP Compliance Checkup Dashboard Compliance Checkup, our newest feature in SLIP, will be launching soon. Upon logging into SLIP, the dashboard will show you a complete picture of your compliance status. Using the latest data submissions, the dashboard tells you how timely your submissions and payments are and how accurate your filings are. It will also show how up-to-date your self-appointment, quarterly affidavit, and catastrophe information is. To help you visualize how the Compliance Checkup dashboard functions, we created a short video. Take a few minutes to watch and let us know what you think. New Name? New Location? Let Us Know FSLSO must be informed within 30 days if there is a change in principal business address, mailing address, business phone number or email address. This is to ensure all necessary reports and correspondence are directed properly. This information can be updated in SLIP or through XML Batch file submission. Failure to report to FSLSO within thirty (30) days after a change of principal business address, mailing address, business phone number, or email address could result in referral to the Department of Financial Services (DFS). DFS must also be notified within 30 days of a change of address or other contact information. Informing FSLSO does not absolve an agent’s obligation to also notify DFS. FSLSO PalmCast Today we had Fred Karlinsky, go-to insurance lobbyist and attorney, in the studio as a guest on the PalmCast. Fred and Jordan, our PalmCast host, discussed the upcoming legislative session and the issues that will be in the spotlight including AOB (assignment of benefits) reform. As a result of this subsequent resolution and Order, the last day to report surplus lines policy data through the FSLSO system (SLIP or XML Batch) where the FHCF assessment will be charged or credited is March 31, 2019.
