Meeting Reminder! Loren Spivack to Speak on February 11th

The North Central Florida Tea Party will hold its next meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016. Loren Spivack will be our guest speaker. He is a popular author, political activist and highly sought after speaker on economics and small government. He will explain what has gone horribly wrong with the American economy and teach us ways to be a “free market warrior” in order to protect and defend the principles upon which the USA was founded. Loren is known for making economics witty, fascinating and easy to understand. He is famous for his sense of humor, his humorous critiques and parodies.
Please come out and meet some like-minded people whose concerns are to make this country a better place to live. Working together we can make a difference! We will have copies of the latest editions of the American Patriot News, and information on the issues facing us. We will do a Presidential Primary Preference poll as part of a united effort around the state of Florida.* Mosre information on this in the next article.

Presidential Prmary Preference Poll/Problems with Email Newsletter

We will be doing another Presidential Primary Preference Poll at our meeting on Thursday.

We had been putting links in our newsletters so people could vote that way but because of a glitch in our system, many of our subscribers were not receiving the newsletters. If you have not been receiving them, I apologize, we think the problem has been fixed, but I am not going to include a polling link at this point.

If you would like toi have a voice in our polling, please come out to the meeting on Thursday!

Protect Your Assets - Liberty First Network Alert

SB 1044 by Sen. Jeff Brandes-Forfeiture of Contraband (Repeal Civil Asset Forfeiture): Provides for acquisition of provisional title of seized property; prohibits forfeiture under Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act from being final until owner of seized property is convicted of criminal act that renders property contraband article; provides that property is deemed contraband article & forfeited subject to forfeiture proceedings; specifies circumstances under which seizing law enforcement agency must return property; removes provision vesting rights, interests, & title to contraband articles in seizing law enforcement agency.

Civil forfeiture has become a revenue generation tool used by police to fund their own coffers. James Madison wrote that “Government is instituted to protect property of every sort". The use of Asset Forfeiture flies in the face of "due process" and the protections of private property guaranteed in the Constitution.

SB 1044 will be heard in the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice on Thursday February 11th, 2016 at 10:00 AM

Gun Raffle Beginning Soon

Our main fund raising effort each year is to hold a gun raffle. We will begin the raffle soon and the drawing will be held at the July 4th River Reunion in Branford.

One of our biggest supporters has always been Cuzin's Cafe in Branford. Over the years they have sold many, many tickets for us in their restaurant. We are sad to report that Cuzin's closed its doors last Sunday! We will miss them; their food and their support!

Please think of places that we can put raffle tickets to sell. Help make this raffle the most successful yet! We use the money each year to help fund our expenses for the year.

Our biggest expense is the printing of the American Patriot News every two weeks. We are distributing 1,600 copies in Lake City, Live Oak, Branford, and Ft. White. Many, many thanks to everyone who helps with this endeavor. It is making a difference in getting the news out! Read the latest edition HERE

Last year we put 3,000 U.S. Constitutions in the Columbia and Suwannee County Middle School Civics and History classes.

We support Liberty First Network each month. They are the liberty lobbyists in Tallahassee for us and do a wonderful job in helping us get the information out on the bills that are being voted on. Go to Liberty First for current action alerts.

We pay our rent at the Taylor Building which we greatly appreciate being able to use for our meetings and we always have other expenses that are associated with running any organization!

Please make an effort to sell tickets this year!

The North Central Florida Tea Party is a group of citizens who are concerned about where our nation is heading. We are a grassroots, non-partisan group opposed to wasteful deficit spending and infringement of our natural rights. We do have a well-defined and uniform slate of principles on which we center our advocacy and support for political candidates. These principles include, first and foremost, advocating for Essential Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and the promotion of free-enterprise, national defense, and traditional American values. Our goals are to educate ourselves on the issues facing us today, act on what we learn, and motivate other like-minded people to become involved. Find a way to become part of the solution instead of just complaining about the problems!
