It runs from 1 to 30 April at various locations throughout the Town. Now in its third year, there is a packed program of entertainment and creativity. As part of the Arts Season, we have The Young Warriors: Making Live Music program, which introduces teenagers to the magic of performing in a real band. Anzac Day 2018 Join us to remember the sacrifices made by the men and women who served and fought for our freedom at our Anzac Day dawn service. All are welcome to attend; a sausage sizzle for the community will be held after the service. There will be some upgrades to the facilities and we want to activate the space outside of the library to make the park safer, friendlier and more interesting. We are hosting some pop-up sessions at John Macmillan over the next few weeks - come down and have a chat with our project team and grab a coffee: During library Storytime – Thursday 12 April from 9–11am. Committee call-out Are you looking for board level experience, want to develop your advisory skills and make a difference at a grassroots community level? Applications close this Friday so be sure to apply if you are thinking about it. Bin advertising trial The Town has begun a trial campaign in partnership with Keep Australia Beautiful Council and Natsales Advertising to promote anti-litter and community messages to our community. As part of the program, Town-based businesses have an opportunity to promote their services on some of the available panels on the upgraded bins. Anti-litter messaging and promotion of local businesses and events within the Town will be the only kind of advertising displayed on the available panels. Rutland Avenue shared path project The Town of Victoria Park and the Department of Transport have partnered to deliver improved walking and cycling facilities along Rutland Avenue. The aim of this project is to provide a safe and convenient connection for pedestrians and bike riders between the existing principal shared path (PSP) along the Graham Farmer Freeway and Welshpool Road.
