2nd Grade eNews

Can you believe the holidays are almost here?  Now that it is colder, please be sure to send a labeled coat with your child each day. 

• Bible - We will study Elijah. Our story will come from I Kings 17:1-16.
• Bible Verse - Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
• Reading - Our new skill will be “Conclusions” in a story. We will be reading “Click, Clack, Moo - Cows that Type.”
• Spelling - Words with s and es endings:  hens   eggs   ducks   bikes   boxes   wishes   dresses   names   bells   stamps   dishes   grapes  most   very  
• Grammar - Compound Sentences
• Math - We will be working on collecting data, graphs, line plots, and continuing to practice borrowing and carrying. Please make sure you are reviewing addition and subtraction facts through 18 at home with flash cards. Students should know each math fact answer within 4 seconds of seeing the problem.

• November 19 - Class Wars! Second Grade will compete with other grades to see who has the biggest percentage of students that dress up on this day: second-graders theme will be “Tacky Tourist.”
• November 21-23 - Thanksgiving Break (No School)
