We are very pleased to announce the publication of the latest issue of the Journal of Global Health Law, Volume 3, Issue 1, which is now available in print and online via Elgaronline.
The current issue covers a broad range of Global Health Law topics, including under-researched areas such as mental health, and the growing regulation of chemicals for public health purposes. It also offers innovative perspectives on fields like Universal Health Coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals, climate change, multiple aspects of the Pandemic Agreement and the 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHR). The issue also includes challenges in how to properly frame digital sequencing information (DSI) in those instruments.
This issue will be the first one published without our dear colleague and founder of the Journal, Brigit Toebes, who sadly passed away in May, 2026. Her trailblazing work in Global Health Law speaks for itself. Even more importantly, she was a generous and cherished colleague and friend who kept changing people’s lives for the better. We owe her an incommensurable debt and will do our best to make good on that. As a first step, we will recognise her role in bringing this journal to life by enshrining her name in this and all future issues as founding editor-in-chief. She will be sorely missed.
