Radio dramas celebrate national women's history month
7 p.m. March 23
Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main Street, Vancouver
The Willamette Radio Workshop will perform two live radio dramas in celebration of National Women’s History Month. The event is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. Concessions, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Directed by Sam A. Mowry, the dramas are “Sorry, Wrong Number” and "The Hitchhiker," both written by Lucille Fletcher. The performance is part of the Re-Imagined Radio project produced by John Barber, faculty member in the Creative Media and
Digital Culture Program.
"Lucille Fletcher is considered the best of a small group of women writing radio dramas during the so-called 'Golden Age of Radio,' the 1920s – 1950s," John said. "It is a pleasure to offer these radio dramas to celebrate not only her life and achievements but also those of women around the world."
