Dear Business Partner,

Over the last few months there has been a significant increase in the number of PV systems with slightly less than 100 kilowatts capacity. The reason: since the beginning of this year, operators of solar systems with a capacity higher than 100 kilowatts must market their output directly. The ensuing trend clearly shows that system builders and installers tend to shy away from this, which is unfortunate, because it means that some otherwise available roof surfaces are not being used to their full extent to generate solar energy.

The Munich wholesaler for photovoltaic and energy storage systems, Memodo, is launching a new initiative that it hopes will help to counter this trend, and has also brought meteocontrol onboard to assist with the task. You will find more information on this in this newsletter.

An overview of our topics:

  • Direct marketing: Memodo and meteocontrol assist installers

  • Webinar on direct marketing

  • meteocontrol: PV monitoring for the largest distributed solar project in the Middle East

As usual, the next newsletter in September will inform you about new features in VCOM and more hardware developments. Until then, we wish you a pleasant summer and enjoyable vacations!

Direct marketing: Memodo and meteocontrol assist installers

[Graphic: Blue line]

To make installers less wary of direct marketing for PV systems and the more complex systems associated with it, Memodo is currently offering a special complete package for the technical commissioning of PV plants of 100 kilowatts or more: the Munich wholesaler for photovoltaics and energy storage systems is offering its over 850 installers free technical consulting for projects of all sizes, plus special project prices for photovoltaic systems larger than 100 kilowatts.

This complete package includes all the meteocontrol hardware and software needed for the implementation and gives installers a monitoring solution that can be combined with products from any well-known manufacturers of inverters and used to implement direct marketing in all of Germany’s regional grids.

Webinar on direct marketing

We would like to help you become familiar with the rules of direct marketing and better understand how it is implemented. That is why, at the beginning of August, we and Memodo jointly carried out an initial webinar on direct marketing. The lively participation showed us how greatly this information is needed, and we are therefore planning further webinars.

We will be happy to keep you informed about the dates.

meteocontrol: PV monitoring for the largest distributed solar project in the Middle East

[Graphic: Blue line]

meteocontrol is a monitoring partner in Dubai’s largest industrial solar rooftop program: together with the project developer Phanes Group and its subsidiary Oryx Solar System Solutions LLC (Oryx), we are implementing photovoltaic systems for DP World on the roofs of the port operator’s buildings. The total installed output power amounts to 25.8 MWp. The first solar systems from DP World are already connected to the grid and making a significant contribution to the planned expansion of clean energy production in Dubai envisaged by the Dubai Shams initiative. Data loggers from the blue’log X series are used for monitoring the distributed rooftop systems, and all the systems are monitored from the VCOM (virtual control room) monitoring platform.
