CPC Publishes 2025 Annual Report CPC is pleased to present our 2025 Annual Report. Our theme, “Thriving Across Generations: 60 Years and Beyond,” celebrates six decades of transformative service and collective impact, while looking ahead to meet our community’s evolving needs and empower future generations. As we celebrate this milestone, we recommit ourselves to ensuring every community member has the resources to thrive and to advancing social and economic progress that will carry our mission forward for the next 60 years and beyond. CPC Hosts Winter Festival for Over 400 Special Needs Families On December 13th, the CPC Queens Special Needs Program hosted a Winter Festival at our Queens Community Center. The event brought together more than 400 participants, including individuals with developmental disabilities and their caregivers, for a day of fun and support. Attendees enjoyed a variety of festive activities, including arts and crafts, a photo booth, and karaoke. Beyond the festivities, the festival served to connect families with information and support networks. Press Coverage: World Journal
CPC Voices Community Fears Over SNAP Rule Change On December 2nd, City Limits published an article detailing a federal rule change that would exclude thousands of legally present immigrants from the SNAP program. Carlyn Cowen, CPC’s Chief Policy and Public Affairs Officer, highlighted the anxiety these proposed changes are already causing within the community, emphasizing that families are terrified they will be unable to feed their children and that this fear is triggering mental health crises. Mary Cheng Recognized Among Manhattan’s Most Powerful Women On December 3rd, Mary Cheng, Director of Childhood Development Services, was honored by Schneps Media as a 2025 Power Woman of Manhattan. The award recognizes her leadership in education and commitment to empowering the community. Mary's story embodies CPC's mission: she began as a young student in our programs, returned as a teacher, and now leads five early childhood centers and eight school-age programs. CPC and The City Tutors Co-Host Green + Tech Mentorship Event On December 1st, CPC partnered with The City Tutors to co-host “Many Paths, One Future: Green + Tech,” a mentorship event designed to equip participants with actionable insights on in-demand skills, industry trends, and concrete next steps for their careers. Participants engaged in meaningful, rotating small-group discussions with mentors from top-tier organizations, including Google, leading clean energy firms, tech-driven nonprofits, and data/AI and creative industry specialists. FAMILY SUPPORTWe make it easier for individuals and families to access personalized social resources because support is fundamental at every age.
CPC Partners with Community Groups for Holiday Food Drive On December 18th, CPC NY Chinatown Older Adult Center partnered with the office of Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Exalt, and Trinity Church, to organize a special holiday food distribution event. A total of 185 bags of food were distributed to older adults and neighbors in Chinatown to ensure they have access to fresh, healthy meals during the holiday season.
CPC's Annual Holiday Gathering Celebrates Staff and Community Work On December 12th, CPC hosted our annual holiday gathering to celebrate and recognize the dedicated staff who make our community programs possible. The event served as a platform for team building and appreciation. As a special gesture, Leadership Team members served food to staff to thank them for their year-round contributions, while Board members joined to offer support. The celebration included karaoke and raffles. COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENTWe empower New Yorkers to represent and to advocate for themselves and their communities because their leadership is essential for positive—and lasting—social change. We engage with individuals to plan and develop their career paths because professional success is critical for economic independence.
CPC and Brooklyn Nets Team Up for Holiday Food Distribution Event On December 22nd, CPC partnered with the Brooklyn Nets to distribute 350 shares of fresh, culturally appropriate produce and groceries to the Brooklyn community as part of holiday season support. The event provided families with nutritious staples, including leafy greens, fresh fruit, and eggs. Each share also contained a special holiday gift.
CPC Joins Leaders at the Center for an Urban Future’s Policy Forum On December 10th, CPC President & CEO Wayne Ho joined a panel discussion convened by the Center for an Urban Future on "The Affordability Crisis Facing NYC's Older Adults." The forum brought together Queens Borough President Donovan Richards and leaders from major nonprofit organizations to explore how city policies can tackle the unique cost-of-living challenges older New Yorkers face.
