The famous line from R&A Chief Executive Peter Dawson. I wonder who will be holding aloft the Claret Jug come this Sunday evening down the Ayrshire coast.

To celebrate golf's premier event, we are putting on some fantastic In-store promotions, Open Sweepstakes, Short-Game clinics and offering our members the chance to try out Taylor-Made's latest M1 / M2 range of Woods & Irons. 

If you are making the short journey down to Troon, have an enjoyable day watching and learning from the worlds best. I will be heading down on Friday and will be like a kid in a sweety shop! I'm excited to watch the "Big 3" and also the in-form American, Dustin Johnson.

With the David Douglas Invitational on this Saturday and a Medal on Sunday, we have a busy weekend ahead at Paisley GC. We have created an "Open" themed feel to the shop and hope you embrace some of the fantastic offers we have in place.

Open Championship Week
at
Paisley Golf Club

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited down to play Royal Troon, playing from the Open Championship Tee's with the grandstands in place, what an incredible experience. I can only imagine what the atmosphere would be like with those grandstands packed and the pressure of playing the golfs premier event.

There is no question the players this week will look to make their score on the front 9 and hang onto it coming back home. The back 9 at Royal Troon must be one of the toughest stretches of golf I've ever played. From the tee-shot at 10 until your approach into 18, there is no let up. I wait with anticipation to watch the worlds best battle it out for the Claret Jug...there is nothing quite like The Open!!!

Short - Game Clinic
Tonight I will run a Short-Game clinic focussing on all shots we are faced with around the greens. I currently have 2 spaces left for this clinic. To claim one of those spots, phone 0141 884 4114.

Taylor-Made Demo
We have product available to demo until Sunday evening. If you are interested in trying the new M1 or M2 Driver / Fairway Woods etc, please give the Pro Shop staff a phone and we can set aside for you to try (or be fitted).

David Douglas Invitational
The ever popular Invitational will go ahead this Saturday and with it being Open Saturday I'm sure there will be a great buzz around the club. Currently we have close to 220 competing. The course is in fantastic condition, making this Saturday a great day to showcase the club.

Open Sweepstakes
Our Open Sweepstake this year has already proven very popular with our membership. For £3 pick, you could walk away with a new Ping G Driver worth £299! There will also be a weekend Open Sweepstake special, keep your eyes peeled for this one!
