Hi there, Covid has been credited with digitally transforming the planet – including the acceleration of industrial IoT.
Agriculture, utilities, mining, oil and gas, transport and logistics have all put their foot on the gas when it comes to industrial IoT over the past couple of years. But Covid hasn't removed the key constraint of ubiquitous, easy access to internet across remote areas. Connectivity was an issue impacting 75 percent of IoT projects canvassed in a recent global survey.
Instead, acceleration is coming in another form – competition. Incumbent supplier Inmarsat has been given the hurry up by Elon Musk's Starlink and its constellation of low orbit access points.
