Tony Fitzgerald Scholarship winner announced
Former Police Inspector Peter Hosking has been awarded the Tony Fitzgerald Scholarship.
Peter's research focusses on police vehicular pursuits, potentially one of the most dangerous operational activities in which officers can be involved in, and the resistence towards policies which restrict officers' discretion in engaging in pursuits.
The Griffith University - Tony Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund supports a Doctor of Philosophy student in a three year research project that reflects the ethos of the Fitzgerald Inquiry and helps maintain the Fitzgerald vision.
Peter is part of the Centre of Excellence in Policing and Security "Integrity Systems - Use of Force" project team, with extensive experience as a former Police Inspector with 29 years’ service.
This month the School also welcomes nine new PhD students who have been awarded Griffith scholarships.
