Subcontractors are invited to learn about upcoming business opportunities related to construction of the water treatment plant for the Southern Delivery System (SDS). The Subcontractor Outreach Event is Wednesday, June 27 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Pikes Peak Room at Leon Young Service Center, 1521 S. Hancock Expressway in Colorado Springs.

McCarthy Building Companies Inc. and Carollo Engineers have been selected as the Design Build Team for the SDS Water Treatment Plant, which includes a finished water pump station. The McCarthy/Carollo team will provide an overview of the project and prequalification process, along with the current timeline for construction bid opportunities.

Dozens of subcontractors will be needed to support construction of the water treatment plant, including asphalt/paving, fencing, pipe supply, pipe installation, electrical, masonry, HVAC, excavation, concrete work, signage, surveying, plumbing and many more goods and services. The water treatment plant, estimated to cost more than $100 million, is the largest dollar value of all the SDS Phase 1 construction projects.
