Hi there,

There’s no doubt both businesses and their customers are moving to a more digital world. But is it really a digital transformation? Or is it just a natural evolution? Afterall, IT has always been known for never standing still, always changing and developing new technologies for business to implement.

While digital transformation may be another ‘hot’ term, is it one that is doing us more harm than good? One expert says yes. He argues that the transformation message is inappropriate and leading companies down the garden path. What we need to focus on instead, is iteration or evolution.

There’s certainly plenty of research to suggest ‘digital transformation’ projects are failing big time, including IMD Business School’s 2021 Digital Vortex report.

With the ‘evolution not transformation’ message apparently resonating among some IT leaders on LinkedIn, this week we drill into the dangers of the ‘transformation’ message and how to avoid some of the pitfalls.

Along a similar vein, we look at why building a BI strategy is so important – because there’s no point having those great business software systems if you can’t get clear, accurate timely information from them.
