WEBINAR: Future-proof? VDE-AR-N 4110 What a plant controller for PV systems will need to do in the future

[Graphic: Blue line]

Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 3 pm to 3.45 pm

The VDE-AR-N 4110 (TAR medium voltage) code of practice obliges decentralized producers to contribute to grid stabilization even more in the future. Thus, from April 27, 2019, operators of photovoltaic systems will also be obligated to carry out verification management for the PGS controller (plant controller) using a component certificate issued by an accredited certification body.

In this interactive webinar, our speakers, Tobias Knoblauch (Sales Manager) and Markus Holzapfel (Product Management), will explain the requirements being placed on plant controller equipment by the new VDE grid code of practice and how to verify the functions in a validated simulation model.

Contents:

• Legal and normative framework
• VDE-AR-N 4110: comparison to BDEW MSR 2008
• Component certificate for PGS controller
• Simulation model for PGS controller
• meteocontrol Power Plant Controller (PPC)

Please familiarize yourself with the new regulation in good time and sign up for our webinar by emailing sales@meteocontrol.com

We look forward to your participation!

blue’Log X series: Engineered to succeed Configuration backup – for increased operational safety

[Graphic: Blue line]

As already announced in September, each edition of our newsletter will present all you need to know about one of the features of the new blue'Log XM / XC generation of data loggers and controllers.

Configuration backup – for increased operational safety

This month we are presenting the new configuration backup feature: with just one click, you can save the set configuration and have the option of recovering it on the same device or a replacement device. This service allows you to secure and improve the operational safety of your system.

Furthermore, the configuration of the device is stored on the internal SD card. This allows the SD card to be used in a replacement device to continue operations seamlessly. In addition, there is new firmware and a new driver package available for blue’Log XM / XC devices.

• Firmware: 4.0.8
• Driver: 4.0.5

The driver package 4.0.5 has improved compatibility with inverters:

• ABB PVS 980
• Chint CPS SCA20/25KTL-DO
• Huawei SUN2000
• KACO blueplanet
• LTi ReEnergy PVMaster II/III
• SMA Sunny Central (CP, CP-US, CP-JP, HE-20)

You will find all the details along with the devices currently supported in the compatibility list for the blue’Log XM / XC.

The new LTE router SCR-L200 – affordable and attractive

[Graphic: Blue line]

The new SCR-L200 router connects the blue’Log to the fast 4G mobile communications network and offers everything needed for trouble-free remote monitoring and remote control of PV systems.

The blue’Log functions such as software updates, live access, data export to VCOM or FTP push can therefore be used via a robust and fast LTE connection. With parallel-encrypted OpenVPN connections, an integrated firewall, a DHCP server, a temperature range from -30…+70 °C and numerous other functions, the router also offers everything a modern, industrial router needs.

It will be available from November 1, 2018

We would be happy to provide a quotation. You will find further information on our homepage.

Discontinuation: WEB’log GPRS and MX modules GPRS

[Graphic: Blue line]

The GPRS (2G) mobile communications standard has long since been superseded by UMTS (3G) and LTE (4G) and is no longer able to meet the growing requirements as regards the remote monitoring and control of PV systems. Many countries are considering phasing out the service and it is not clear in what form the 2G network will be available in the years to come.

We will therefore discontinue the following products from our portfolio on December 31, 2018:

• WEB‘log LIGHT+ 20 GPRS: 421.152
• BASIC 100 GPRS: 421.155
• WEB‘log PRO unlimited GPRS: 421.159
• MX modules GPRS: 538.201

We recommend the new LTE router SCR-L200 as a successor product.

Solar Asset Management Mexico & Central America 2018

[Graphic: Blue line]

The conference "Solar Asset Management Mexico & Central America 2018" has taken place for the first time. As a Gold Sponsor with our own booth, meteocontrol supported the event and contributed to its success with the presentation "Optimizing PV Assets Performance through O&M and Asset Management Tools". The topic, prepared by Alexander Wolf, Managing Director of meteocontrol Central America, was well received.

With 2 GWp of installed PV power, Mexico has already achieved a lot, but the market is still young. The interest in and need for information regarding professional monitoring solutions is therefore huge. And not without reason – according to participating experts, Mexico is the most attractive market in the whole of Latin America. Both short-term and medium-term growth projections are very promising in all PV segments.
