Get the Scoop on Downtown OKC Housing Development

Be the first to get the scoop on urban housing as ULI Oklahoma and Downtown OKC host the official downtown housing study release party.

Who is buying?  What of kind housing are they looking for?  Where do they want to live? Please join us at 5 p.m. on Nov. 8, at Joey's Pizzeria to hear these and other questions answered, as Ian Colgan, Associate with Development Concepts, presents "Downtown Oklahoma City Housing Development Strategies and Implementation Plan".

About the plan
The 2011 Plan goes beyond an update of the market demand to create a roadmap to maximize housing development over the next five years.  The study was designed to evaluate housing market potential, identify target areas for housing development, quantify the financial gap for development, and recommend strategies to facilitate housing development downtown.

About Ian Colgan, AICP
Ian Colgan is a certified planner and a market and economic analyst.  His experience includes downtown, neighborhood, and corridor revitalization; commercial and housing development; urban redevelopment; local and regional economic development; and land use and transportation planning.  Ian specializes in addressing the relationship of local market and economic conditions and their impacts on land use, development and transportation patterns.

This event is free for ULI members and $10 for non-members. Learn more about this event and make plans to join us on Nov. 8!

Have You Seen the Red Dots Around Downtown OKC?

The name Red Dot denotes the all-important red mark that a gallery places on any work of art as soon as it is sold. Red Dot is also the name of Individual Artists of Oklahoma’s (IAO) annual art auction scheduled for Friday, Nov. 11 from 7-11 p.m. The auction will feature works by more than 130 Oklahoma artists.

Individual Artists of Oklahoma Gallery on historic film row (706 W. Sheridan, Oklahoma City) will help set the scene for an evening of delicious food from local restaurants, festive beverages, socializing with friends new and old and, of course, bidding on a unique selection of art sure to appeal to all tastes and budgets. Artwork up for auction will include sculpture, painting, mixed media photography, ceramics and fiber arts.

For those collectors who don’t want to wait until the end of the silent auction to see a Red Dot by their favorite pieces of art, the popular “buy it now” feature will again be available. This alternative allows the buyer to trump the auction and buy the artwork immediately. Who knew seeing Red Dots could be so much fun?

Funds raised via Red Dot directly support IAO exhibitions throughout the year. Cost of admission to Red Dot is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.

IAO would like to thank their current sponsors: Art Form LLC/ ASI Signage Innovations, Michael Hoffner, Chip and Shannon Fudge, Smith & Pickel Construction, Cindy Miller, Debbie Nauser, The Kerr Foundation, John and Kimberly Kalafut, Steve Mason, Jim Roth, The Seward Family, Chris George Homes, Curt Stamp, and Palmer Studios! We would also like to thank the Spirit Shop, eventures, Impressions Printing, Cicero International, and the Oklahoma Gazette for in-kind support!

Food sponsors include Paseo Grill, Urban Roots, Jazmo'z Bourbon Street, Joey's Pizzeria, Cafe Nova, The Wedge, Deep Fork Grill, Mediterranean Imports and Deli, Gopuram Taste of India, and Iguana Mexican Grill.
