The Parliament has announced that the Take The Time petition will be debated at 4.15pm next Thursday 20 September (several weeks earlier than expected).
The O'Farrell Government now has to explain why commercialising Boxing Day and other key public and bank holidays is more important than family and community time.
If you have been collecting signatures for the campaign, please mail or fax them in to the address on the bottom of the petition as soon as possible.
It's not too late to add to the count! You can sign the petition online here: http://www.takethetime.org.au/sign-the-petition
Forward this message to your family and friends who have not yet added their names. Now is the last chance to add theirs to the clamour of voices.
- We say no to trading on Boxing Day
- We say no to rostering staff to pack shelves on Christmas Day
- We say no to trading on bank holidays
- We say yes! to family and community time
*There is limited space in the public gallery in the Parliament. If you want to show your support by attending to watch the debate, please register your intention by sending an email to campaign@takethetime.org.au
