The wines are sold “En Primeur” and will be delivered in summer 2017. Quantities are limited. Whites: Meursault 1er Cru Blagny 2015 - £265 per 6/IB Notably Meursault in style, with an appealingly broad but nicely chiselled palate. Some subtle toast flavours are further filled out by citrus curd and zest. Lovely lingering finish. Only 3 barrels produced. Drink 2018 – 2023. Chassagne Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly 2015 - £290 per 6/IB Situated next to Chevalier Montrachet, one can sense hints of this famous Grand Cru in the Harbour's En Remilly. Lacy and sleek with notes of orange zest, quince and toasted brioche. Only seasoned barrels are used to allow the terroir to shine through. Only 3 barrels produced. Drink 2018 – 2023. Reds: Gevrey Chambertin La Justice 2015 - £230 per 6/IB Their 2015 La Justice is Gevrey through and through. Broad and moderately dense, this wine shows its meaty core with additional notes of sweet tomato confit, red bramble fruits and spice. Appealingly savoury. Drink 2019 – 2028. Gevrey Chambertin Pressonnier 2015 - £240 per 6/IB A more discrete wine which displays notes of dark bramble fruit, damson plum and a lick of spice. Its texture is polished and it has an appealing lift to it, making it notably "digeste", or easily dispersed on the tongue. Its predominately clay soil gives this wine a nice sense of ageability. Drink 2020 – 2030. Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Combe aux Moines 2015 - £305 per 6/IB Due to higher elevation, the grapes from this vineyard can be picked later, allowing longer ripening. This characteristic can easily be felt in this wine. While its bright fruit flavours reveal themselves on the nose, the palate offers a wonderfully sculpted feel. Pretty yet with presence and depth. This 2015 finishes long yet firm with subtle notes of toast. Only seasoned French oak barrels are used contributing to its elegant nature. Drink 2021 – 2034. Pommard 1er Cru Les Chanlins 2015 - £290 per 6/IB A deep wine that reveals wonderful Pommard terroir and personality. Moderately open with notes of juicy red cherry, its palate is firm yet fleshy with a pronounced Pommard muscle behind the fruit. Finishes long with notes of appealing toasted cocoa beans and spice. Drink 2022 – 2034. Corton Grand Cru 2015 - £365 per 6/IB From vines that were planted in 1916 and 1977, this appealing Grand Cru opens with pronounced notes of cinnamon, sweet red and black fruits and vanilla. Broad, chunky and chewy, it has undeniable personality and density. An admirable Corton that will cellar nicely over the years. Drink 2023 – 2036. About the 2015 vintage:The 2015 vintage has been hailed as one of the greatest in the last 20 years, following in the footsteps of 2005 and 2010. High temperatures and little rain characterised much of the summer across Europe. In Burgundy, for three weeks, temperatures hovered in the late 30s (degrees centigrade) with lots of sun and even some burnt berries. The 2003 vintage was the last time the Burgundian vineyards had seen such heat, and not since 1949 had such dryness been seen in July. But that all came to a halt in August and September, when temperatures cooled and nights became fresh. The resulting wines are rich and succulent, with nonetheless a streak of fresh acidity and mineral lift.Secure Yours NowCall us on +44 (0)203 306 0640, visit us at The Vino Beano.com or reply to this email, and we'll allocate your cases now.Best Wishes |
