Good morning Hot Bottlers!

Thank you for all your wonderful messages and I hope those of you who requested a cheering video message have all received them safely.

Behold this week’s Value Vino:

M&S Grillo 2018 (13%) £7. A luminous lemon! Radiating rich citrus refreshment, this Italian ace is all you need for summer sipping and matches magnificently with ocean bounty.

Aldi The Wrangler Californian Zinfandel 2017 (15%) £6.99. Sells like hot cakes online, this huge spicy red is a romp of giant flavours. Well worth tracking down in stores and fab with smokey recipes.

Morrisons Fino Sherry (15%) £4.85. A full 75cl for this price is incredible value. Serve this salty bright fresh sherry ice cold with any savoury nibbles to unleash it’s tangy tremendousness. And try pouring one third Fino to two thirds lemonade over ice with a slice for one of my favourite easy cocktails - the Rebujito! Guaranteed to set your mood buzzing.

Les Rafelières Sauvignon Blanc 2019 (12%) £9.96 Private Cellar. One of the great gems of the wine world, year in year out this zesty gem soars like Sancerre minus the weighty price tag. A  bit of lockdown luxury to lift your spirits.

Tesco Finest Argentinean Malbec Rosé 2019 (13%) £8. With a clever 10% twist of Torrontes, this rosé manages to exude a fruity freshness that sings in the glass. Refreshing and full of flavour, it’s the perfect wine to unwind with or to pair with light salads and simple dishes.

Do feel free to share this newslettter far and wide so that as many people as possible can have a dip into these value vinos.  I'll also be publishing one a day on Instagram.

This week's Isolation Diary is freshly released at Mail+  My new video diary covers everything from Fortnum and Mason's hampers of delight to the sublime services of Jing tea - and even a meditation pillow. You can watch every episode of the series free at Mail+ here.

As you'll know by now, I'm a big fan of wine from off the beaten track, and Austria's one place we should all be looking to buy from. I've found some real gems to recommend in my latest column for EVENT magazine which you can read online here.

I’ll be back on Saturday Kitchen this weekend and looking forward to finding some fab bottles to shower the nation with.

In the meantime stay safe and keep on sipping the vino. Wine works wonders!

All the jolliest,

Olly x
