Aussie Invader 5R will be the most powerful car in the world. Rosco McGlashan, who is aiming to drive the rocket propelled car faster than a bullet fired from a handgun and break the World Land Speed Record, has launched a video blog (vlog) on YouTube to keep followers up to date with progress of the latest speed record attempt.

In his vlog Rosco is providing regular behind the scenes updates from the Aussie Invader 5R workshop in Perth. Supporters will gain raw insight into developments of the project usually only available for the Aussie Invader team, and will be able to see first hand, the construction of the rocket-powered car taking shape.
Already holder of the Australian Land Speed Record and dubbed the ‘Fastest Aussie on Earth’, Rosco is determined to bring the highly sought after World Land Speed Record home to Australia. In doing so Rosco will endeavour to pilot the rocket-powered car to an excess of 1000 mph (1609 km/h), breaking the sound barrier by one and a half times and smashing the existing World Land Speed Record of 763 mph (1223 km/h) set by British rival, Andy Green in 1997.
The Aussie Invader 5R world record attempt is set for 2013, about the same time Andy Green and the British team will be ready with their new car Bloodhound SSC. The rivalry is unmistakable and the race is already being dubbed the “ashes beyond the speed of sound”.
