Postdoctoral Associate - Cancer Biology, Cellular and Epigenetic Plasticity - Medical University of South Carolina
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Cell and Molecular Pharmacology at MUSC, an NCI-designated cancer center, to study new aspects of prostate cancer biology. The goal of this project is to unravel the mechanisms by which eHsp90 supports prostate cancer development.
The candidate will have the opportunity to utilize a diverse array of molecular biology approaches including proteomics, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, gene editing, and animal models of cancer. Postdocs are encouraged to collaborate with internal and external colleagues and to apply for career-enhancing awards.
The candidate should possess the following criteria: 1) Evidence of first author peer reviewed publications, 2) A strong background in molecular and/or cancer biology, 3) Excellent communication and writing skills. Prospective candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about science, with an ability to think creatively and independently. Open-Rank Faculty Position in Infectious Disease Research - West Virginia University School of Medicine - Morgantown, WV
The WVU Health Sciences Center invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (rank open) in the
Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology. We seek individuals who study the molecular mechanisms of infectious diseases toward their prevention and treatment. Dedicated laboratory space and competitive start-up funds will be made available. The successful faculty will contribute to the undergraduate, graduate and professional teaching of the department. Infections in pediatric patients are of significant interest and successful qualified appointee may hold a secondary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics. This position provides an exceptional opportunity to participate in a robust, interdisciplinary basic and translational research and training programs in a highly collaborative
atmosphere.
Applicants should have a PhD, MD or MD/PhD degree, a strong record of scholarly publications, productive post-doctoral training, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates for an Assistant Professor will be expected to obtain independent extramural funding, while appointments for Associate Professor and Professor will require the transfer of existing funding.
