Villanelle, the assassin in the hit BBC show, Killing Eve, is cold, manipulative and extremely violent. She is a quintessential psychopath … or is she? Nadja Heym reveals five little-known facts about psychopaths and what they’re really thinking.

Astronomers have discovered the first ever evidence of a moon orbiting a planet in a solar system outside our own. This “exomoon” is within the habitable zone of the star, meaning liquid water could exist on its surface. Andrew Norton explains why the discovery is such a big deal.

A fifth of ambulance trips to hospital are for the same issue – breathlessness. Millions of people with heart and lung conditions regularly suffer this problem yet they often know little about how to deal with it. Ann Hutchinson has found that simple education could help many of these people improve their quality of life and avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency department.

Meanwhile, who is really behind the news stories you read? Vera Tolz argues that revelations about “Colonel Chepiga”, one of the Skripal poisoners, can tell us a great deal about all that’s good, bad and ugly in modern journalism.
