CPC Launches Alumni Association with Inaugural Networking Night On August 8th, CPC hosted its first-ever Alumni Networking Night and brought together over 70 alumni and former staff for an evening of connection, collaboration, and professional growth. The event marked the official launch of the CPC’s Alumni Association, an initiative designed to foster lifelong connections between CPC and its alumni community. Attendees participated in a range of engaging activities, including complimentary professional headshots, a personal branding workshop, a LinkedIn strategy session, and a networking activity facilitated by CPC Leadership Council members. CPC and GrowNYC Partner to Distribute Local Produce to the Community On August 22nd, CPC partnered with GrowNYC to host a food distribution event for over 250 community members at CPC Brooklyn Community Services. Volunteers from both organizations packed and distributed bags filled with a variety of seasonal offerings, including carrots, apples, tomatoes, and other farm-fresh items. CPC and City Tutors Host Networking Event to Equip Jobseekers with Creative Strategies for Industry Success On August 21st, CPC and City Tutors hosted a panel and networking event for Neighborhood Hope on "Creativity in Business and Entertainment." The event provided students and jobseekers with advice from top executives on breaking into competitive industries. Beyond the discussion, the evening included live music performances and a networking session, which allowed attendees to apply key takeaways in real time.
CPC, City Tutors, and Goldman Sachs Host Mentorship Event for Emerging Professionals On August 12th, CPC partnered with City Tutors and Goldman Sachs to host a career mentorship event for aspiring finance professionals to connect with mentors, build valuable networks, and gain practical insights into securing employment. Discussions focused on essential but often unspoken career strategies, including how to initiate introductory "coffee chats" without an existing network, navigate non-linear paths into investment banking, and pursue continuous learning within a firm. CPC Nan Shan OAC Celebrates National Senior Citizens Day with Annual Outing On August 20th, CPC Nan Shan Older Adult Center celebrated National Senior Citizens Day by continuing its annual tradition of a special community outing to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. A total of 85 older adults attended the event, which included a tour of the venue and an opportunity to watch the US Open. The outing emphasized more than just recreation but served as a gesture of appreciation and honor for the contributions of older adults in the community.
Jessica Hsieh Joins Leadership Academy for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities On August 7th, Jessica Hsieh from CPC's Queens Special Needs team was chosen for New York State’s highly selective Leadership Academy for Persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, one of 24 individuals statewide to attend the program. The program aims to equip participants with advocacy and leadership skills to drive systemic improvements in disability services.
