Working in Youth Justice Settings

We are supporting two projects as part of extending innovative practice that sees arts and cultural organisations working within youth justice settings:

“I think this programme should continue and be available for other young people like me. It has really helped me and I have changed a lot since I started. I am really glad that I stayed on to do the Arts Award.”

Random Acts: A New Network of Support for Young Artists and Filmmakers

Random Acts is Channel 4's short-form arts strand which showcases ‘bold expressions of creativity’ through short films covering art, dance, animation, music and opera,  ranging in duration from 90 seconds to 3 minutes. Arts Council England have invested in the programme since its launch in 2011.

The Arts Council plans to invest up to £3 million funding to fund five new Random Acts Network Centres over a 3 year period 2015-18 to nurture new 16-24 year old talent.

In line with this, Artswork carried out and commissioned research into film education and accessiblity in the South East. Download the report and its accompanying powerpoint presentation from our resources section.
