CPC Brooklyn Community Services Celebrates 37 Years of Service with Smiles & Patriotism

The CPC Brooklyn Community Services program recently held their 37th Anniversary Dinner Gala on Thursday, October 20th, 2016. Held at the New Spring Garden Restaurant, they were fully booked with over 550 attendees and honored guests. One particular highlight from the evening stood out as the embodiment of CPC Brooklyn’s spirit -- 15-year old Audrey Soo and 72-year old Ms. Jin Mei Chen held a captivating performance of the American national anthem. All eyes and ears were on Audrey setting the tone and melody on violin and Ms. Chen delivering a beautiful rendition of the patriotic song.

CPC School-Aged Child Care program Director Lois Lee, and former Queens School-Aged Child Care Center student and now high school volunteer, Vicky Pan, told WNYC the story and challenge of living in one country with relatives during the first years of their lives while their parents worked hard overseas in the U.S. in a three-part series of recorded stories.

Dynamism has defined CPC's vigorous activity and progress in reaching and growing our community throughout 2015 and 2016. CPC's latest annual report celebrates the lives of the individuals and families we have touched through our programs. Everyone from Satellite Babies and their parents, to a Youth Services participant studying in the Arctic Circle, to a grandmother becoming the primary caregiver of her autistic grandson, to a gentleman who lost his business in a fire and has bounced back with dynamism is proudly a part of CPC's legacy.
