The Amazing Muscular Layers Around our Hips.

What do all of these muscles do for us?  On a typical day, we get in and out of our cars, go up and down stairs, bend over to pick up vegetables that have flown off the cutting board or maybe go for a walk, correct?

This picture shows the deeper muscular layers of the hip. The beautiful gluteus maximus has been taken out (yes it's beautiful). The labels are tiny but you can get a pretty good idea of the amount of muscle in this area. Lots of layers, lots of strength, and a whole lot of importance.

One of my clients recently told me that he thinks of massage as "Educational, and a way to become more aware of tightness in places he didn't know about".  Why is it that these places tend to linger around the low back, hips, and thighs?  Perhaps you'd like to learn why?

Try it! Therapeutic Yoga & Movement Re-education with Amy LePage-Hansen

This season Amy LePage-Hansen and myself would like to offer you a unique opportunity to experience our work in succession.  You have heard me say; "self-care is key to prolonging the effects of Massage...", why not take it a step further and learn how to move better?  I think that sounds lovely with "feel better".

One of my favorite quotes from Amy:

  • "Learn to quiet the compensations in your body and allow pure movement and ease to become the foundation for building stability and strength."

We are excited to offer two different packages for our clients:

  1. Two sessions total: one with myself & one with Amy; $120.
  2. Six sessions total: three with myself & three with Amy; $300.

Working with Amy personally has tought me how to strengthen and stabilize the muscles in my hips and minimize some odd habits I've developed while recovering from knee surgery.

Amy and I are confident that these sessions will not only bring real change, but enhance your knowledge of how the muscular layers in the hips effect the entire body.

Why not give it a try? You'll love it. Shedule here!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone~Warmly, Melissa
