Hello How can you save money and time by putting your paper documents straight into your document library? In this newsletter, we'll be looking at a paper-to-digital solution for SharePoint developed by our partners Kodak called "Scan and View"; a neat solution which deals with many of the issues faced by organisations and trusts looking to reduce the amount of paper documents they store. This month we'll also be talking about our upcoming SharePoint in Healthcare event which we are running with Blackpool Teaching Hospitals, as well as filling you in on some of the work we've been doing with them over in Blackpool - eForms in particular. 
Paper documents are a common obstacle for many NHS Trusts and organisations to overcome. Even after the successful deployment of a SharePoint document management system, paper forms may still be in circulation from outside and require adequate management just as the electronic documents do within their CMS. Cloud2 and Kodak technologies help customers capture the huge number of pages that are generated every year in trusts and companies and move them from paper to digital, manageable copies in SharePoint. The platform has a rich functionality within SharePoint, that includes scanning documents straight into SharePoint, field recognition, document clean-up (crumpled or hard-to-read documents are cleaned up automatically) and automatic document rotation. Cloud2 and Microsoft Free SharePoint Event 14/12/11 On Wednesday 14th December (07/12/11), Cloud2 and Microsoft UK will be hosting a free SharePoint in healthcare event at Wednesday 14th December at Microsoft UK’s headquarters in Cardinal Place, London. Microsoft Release SP3 for Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007 
Microsoft recently released the third and, probably, last service pack for Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007. According to RCPMag, Microsoft said in early October that Service Pack 3 (SP3) would be "likely final" for both Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007, which are scheduled to lose "mainstream support" in April 2012. During the mainstream support period, users have access to free product support as well as security and non-security updates. After losing mainstream support next April, Office 2007 and SharePoint 2007 will enter a five-year period of "extended support," during which users can still receive security updates, but non-security updates will require a paid contract with Microsoft. Blackpool Teaching Hospital ESR eForms Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTHNFT) is a group of 9 hospitals/centres with around 4000 staff that are required to submit various information for use in the HR, IT, payroll, uniform and other departments. They needed a way to eliminate these lengthy paper processes in favour of a more streamlined solution. As part of the ‘PaperLight’ programme, Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust were required to reduce their paper usage significantly, and eliminating paper forms was a main focus for this. We're also very happy to announce that after a lot of very generous donations, some strenuous training and a lot of hard work, Cloud2 raised the grand total of £1258.10 for Cancer Research UK at the Bradford City Run back in October. The whole team were involved in the fundraising and thanks to the very generous contributions of friends, family and business partners in person and online using JustGiving.com, we smashed the Cloud2 target of £800 two weeks before the run! Thanks to everybody who helped us reach such an incredible target.
