Research Grants for 2014

The Stillbirth Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be funding two terrific research studies in 2014. We owe our ability to fund these studies to all of our amazing supporters who are as dedicated as we are to preventing the too-high number of babies stillborn each year.

After rigorous examination of the six research applications submitted to us, our Scientific Assessment Committee decided that there were a couple of outstanding applications. We look forward to keeping you all updated with their progress in the new year!

To continue supporting our research endeavours, please donate.

Saturday Night Fever Ball 2013

To all our groovy guys and gals who attended our far out Saturday Night Fever Ball, October 12, we want to extend our sincerest thanks. With your help, we raised a very cool $67,000!

We had a righteous time with you all and we’re sure, with the number of you who dusted off your favourite 70s duds, that you did too. After all, mullets and goldfish shoes are never quite as at home as when they’re busting some moves on a disco dance floor!

Guests grooved all night long to the funky beats of band Swerve, played our timeless Lock & Key and hilarious Quoits games, purchased tickets in our righteous raffles, and of course, bid on the raddest money-can't-buy auction and raffle items and experiences. We were able to raise our much-needed funds for the research studies the Stillbirth Foundation intends on funding in 2014.

As such, we want to extend an immense thank you to all of our fabulous guests. We would also like to thank our gorgeous committee for all their hard work in putting together this outta sight night, and all of our wonderful prize donors for supporting us with their generosity. Sydney2CAMberra Ride 2014

In February 2014, the Sydney2 CAMberra Ride will be taking place again in response to the brilliant turn out at the 2013 ride. The Stillbirth Foundation is pleased to be partnering with Sydney2CAMberra again in 2014.

This event has been put together by Nicole and Graham Belfield, in memory of their son, Cameron, who was stillborn in 2011. Below is some specific information about the ride from the Sydney2CAMberra team. For more information, click here.

The Sydney2CAMberra charity ride will follow the same route as the 2013 event until the first stop at Pheasants Nest. The start time for day one is scheduled to start at 05:30 from Moorebank Sports Club, which is located at 230 Heathcote Road, Hammondville, New South Wales, 2170.

The 2014 event will see take on a more scenic route, guiding riders through picturesque Bowral and Mittagong until they reach Marulan.

A King of the Mountains competition will be included into the 2014 event over 2 days. This includes Mt Gibraltar in Bowral on Day 1 and the Telstra Tower in Canberra on Day 2, which will be a fun side event to the main ride for those who dare!

We're dreaming of a Stella Christmas

In preparation for Christmas, we would love to be able to sell our beautiful, cuddly Stella bears and donate them to hospitals.

Our Stellas are just twenty dollars each; click here to purchase one for yourself, or follow up your purchase with an email to Michelle mentioning your wish to donate your bear to a newly bereaved family.

Remember your baby with a hand-drawn colour portrait

Adelaide-based artist, Samantha Ricci, has extended a special notice to all of our wonderful supporters. From precious photographs of your baby, Samantha can recreate an image of your stillborn baby.
