Domestic Abuse Consulation Launched
The Scottish Government has launched a consultation seeking views on a draft provision which creates a specific offence of 'abusive behaviour in relation to a partner or ex-partner'. This consultation will assist in considering how a specific offence should be framed and will run until 26 March, 2016. Scottish Women’s Aid’s annual Census Day survey found 95 women and 11 children and young people reached out to a Women’s Aid group for the first time on a single day in Scotland in 2015. Find out more here.

Equally Safe Blog
The Scottish Government has launched an Equally Safe blog to provide information and updates on some of the work happening across Scotland to prevent and eradicate violence against women. Recent posts have included a guest post from Emma Ritch from Engender on prevention.
Forced Marriage Research
The Scottish Government has commissioned a team of researchers working in partnership with Scottish Women's Aid, Hemat Gryffe and Shakti to conduct a study on forced marriage in Scotland. The research team is asking for contact with victims/survivors of forced marriage who might be interested in talking to them. Contact Melanie melanie.mccarry@strath.ac.uk for more information.
Rape Crisis Scotland Annual Report
The new RCS annual report highlights, among other developments, positive findings from the evaluation of its sexual violence prevention project, and a further increase in the number of people supported by rape crisis centres across Scotland - 2,665 survivors, with centres responding to almost 14,000 calls.
