Next Week

  • Bible - Jesus reads Scripture; Attributes of God’s Word; God’s provision through His word; Importance of memorization
  • Verse – Psalm 119:11 “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”
  • Reading – Essential Question: What makes birds different from mammals?
  • Phonics -  “kn” & “wr” sound
  • Words to Know - bird, both, eyes, fly, long, or, those, & walk
  • Comprehension Skills & Strategies - Compare & Contrast
  • Writing - Informative Writing
  • Vocabulary Strategies - Suffixes
  • Grammar - We will start taking a grade on grammar skills; practice sentence structure and labeling parts of sentences
  • Science Unit - Animal classification
  • Math - Finish chapter 10 on Subtraction equations; using a number line for subtraction

Reminders

  • Please send a warm coat, hat, and gloves with your child. If it is above 34 degrees wind chill we will try to go outside for at least a little while.
  • Class starts promptly at 8:00am. Even though your child is not counted tardy till 8:15, if your child arrives after 8:00, they are missing work that may have to then be completed at recess.

Important Dates

  • January 15: No School (unless we need it as a snow day)
  • January 24: 100th day of school- we will dress up and have special activities planned
  • January 25: Little Dribblers fieldtrip to Springdale campus @ 9:15 (this is a special routine that we will perform)
