Barnard Creates New Office of Family Engagement
Barnard is pleased to announce the creation of the Office of Family Engagement, which will provide parents and guardians with a one-stop source for College information and services. Under the direction of Deputy Dean
of the College Natalie Friedman, the office is an expansion of the Barnard Parents Program that was established last fall.
"We are excited to expand our outreach to Barnard families," said President Sian Leah Beilock. "This office will be a resource for families, and help us better communicate through tools such as this newsletter, an expanded website, events, and webinars. Deputy Dean Friedman and her team will also coordinate activities such as Family Weekend and Commencement, and will partner with offices across campus on new programs." For more information, visit the Barnard Office of Family Engagement or email parents@barnard.edu.
Barnard Announces New Health and Wellness Initiative A new campus-wide health and wellness initiative - Feel Well, Do Well @ Barnard - will launch this fall. As one of President Beilock’s
institutional priorities, this initiative will set the gold standard of what health and wellness can look like on a 21st century college campus.
Feel Well, Do Well is built around the nationally recognized JED Foundation Campus Model in which the health and well-being of college students is the responsibility of all who work on campus. Feel Well, Do Well's goals include promoting physical and mental health via multiple partnerships across campus, enhancing social connectedness, and ensuring equity of access to health and wellness services.
In addition to the new initiatives that will be created under the program, those Barnard services that are already available to students will be highlighted under the Feel Well, Do Well @ Barnard umbrella to better communicate their availability. For more information, visit Feel Well, Do Well @ Barnard.
