Kingswood College Where Potential Soars Kingswood College

Message from the President

Welcome to edition three of 2015.

In this edition we provide a ‘snap shot’ of four Wyvernians.  They show just how far and wide we travel, and the range of areas that Wyvernians are involved and excelling.

The 2015 Reunions (photos are included from the Class of 2014 Reunion) are complete and we are in the process of preparing for 2016.  Dates have been set and are included in this edition.  We are always pleased to receive input from Wyvernians and particularly assistance with encouraging each other to attend Reunions!  Please feel free to contact me to provide input and assistance, particularly those that are due for a Reunion in 2016.

The highlight for this quarter at the College was the 125 year community Carnival.  It was extremely well attended by the College community.  It was great to see so many Wyvernians.  The day really showcased the College and brought the College and local community together.  Look out for future events!

The College also sent a number of students over to Cambodia providing an opportunity to assist with the development programs in partnership with Uniting Care.  The trip was transformative and inspiring.

Please feel free to contact me with matters of interest, ideas of featured Wyvernians, or to just make contact.

Class of 2014 Reunion

Great to see so many and hear what everyone has been doing the first year out.  Particularly great to see attendance by those that had left the college before year 12 come back and reconnect with their old class mates.

The highlight for all the student was being able to catch up with some of their old teachers.  Thank you very much to the teachers that were able to attend.

By all accounts the stories told were grand, and all had been exceptionally busy since leaving the college.  For further information please click here to access the Class of 2014 Facebook page.

Kingswood College Community Carnival

The Kingswood College Carnival was the culmination of our 125 years program of events.

The Carnival had something for everyone including a fantastic range of stalls, activities, rides and entertainment for kids of all ages – big and small.

A fun afternoon for the whole family the Community Carnival finished with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.

During the September school holidays two groups of 15 students visited Cambodia as part of the College's new Community Based Learning Program.

Throughout their ten-day experience students spent time building houses for families, teaching English to primary students, learning cooking skills and engaging with the local community.

The students and staff gained so much out of this life changing experience and we look forward to returning to Cambodia in 2016.
