Happy Mother’s Day to all of the wonderful FCMA moms.  We hope that your Mother’s day is filled with many surprises and lots of relaxation, because you deserve it, not only on this day, but every day!

~The FCMA Staff

We would like to thank all of you for the wonderful tokens of appreciation that were presented to us this week.  We were taken aback by your generosity.  It is a great feeling to be acknowledged for what we do on a daily basis, but we have to admit that it is also because of you that we enjoy coming in to work each day.  The quick hellos in the morning, brief conversations in the hallway, and the smiles on the children’s faces each day, are just a few of the things that make what we do worthwhile.  So thank you for making our jobs such a joy.

A wedding ring was found on school grounds on the Herbert side. If you are missing a ring, please contact the office to see if it is yours.

This Wednesday, the 16th, is Jump Rope and Hoops for Heart! Students are welcome to dress in red in support of Heart Health, as well as fitness attire so they are comfortable during the event.

Hello FCMA Family,

I wanted to take a moment to thank all of you for coming out to the Art and Music Showcase last Saturday and making it our most successful fundraising event ever ! :) We couldn't have done it without all of the donations, labor, and support from our amazing volunteers and team members. My friends and family who came to the event commented on the palpable sense of community that surrounded the event. I could not have been more proud of our students and the artwork / musical performances that they displayed at the event. You are all truly inspiring.

Now that the show is over you can look forward to seeing artwork coming home over the next few weeks. I am looking forward to finishing the year out strong with some exciting lessons and art habits that will propel your students' creative pursuits through the end of the year and into the summer months.

I will be hosting a local art exploration camp entitled Something Hidden Here, June 18th-22nd from 9am-1pm each day. If your student/students might be interested in furthering their creative abilities over the summer, please email me at michaelchabot@choiceschools.com . Please include the grade level your student/students will be entering next year so that I can see what age groups to prepare for and if a second session may be necessary. The first session will be held at Olive's Bloombox in Ferndale and sign up/cost info will be emailed to those who have reponded.  If June 18th-22nd does not work for you, please include a week and city that would work better for you in your email.

Below is a sneak peak of what is up next on the art cart.

K-1 Dream Animals - Oil pastel on colored paper

2-3 Observational Drawing -Graphite in small sketchbooks

4-6- Ink Roses - India ink and watercolor on watercolor paper

Field Day at Four Corners Montessori is all about fun!
Students rotate from one exciting station to the next. Pre-primary/Lower Elementary will go in the morning, and Upper Elementary/Middle School will go in the afternoon.
Students should bring a reusable water bottle to keep themselves hydrated  throughout the day. Families are also invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the grass with their students during their regular lunch time.

Help is needed for ALL grade levels to make the events run smoothly. Parents can work one shift, or multiple shifts or stay the whole day!

Go Outside And Play

"If we adults have lost touch with the wonders of our world and universe, we might look to our children to point the way again. Maria Montessori encouraged parents to follow the young child rather than carry him - watching his joy as he discovers pebbles, puddles, and small creatures; and goes up and down little hills, climbs rocks, or rolls in the grass."
