A record 3,200 people took on the challenge of the B&E Hobart Run the Bridge in the early hours of Sunday, 19 February.
2 time Olympian and 2015 race winner, David McNeill, won this year’s event in a record time of 28 minutes and 57 seconds, followed closely by rivals Jack Rayner and Collis Birmingham.
Makda Harun Haji gave the men a run for their money in the Battle of the Sexes, leading the elite field right up until the finishing straight. Harun Haji won the women’s race in a time of 33 minutes and 17 seconds. New Zealand’s Camille Buscomb and Australia’s Milly Clark placed second and third.
Pat Smith (31.03) and Meriem Daoui (37.32) were the first Tasmanians across the line.

2017 marks the 8th year of the event and with runners of all ages and fitness levels able to participate, it has truly become a community event that everyone can enjoy.
