Mitch Wu Honored at Queens Borough President's Lunar New Year Celebration
On February 12th, CPC attended the Lunar New Year Celebration hosted by Queens Borough President Donovan Richards at Queens Borough Hall. The event recognized Mitch Wu, Director of CPC Queens Community Services, and other distinguished AAPI leaders in Queens, for their impacts on the Queens community. The festivities also included an evening of food and cultural performances.

CPC Community School at PS 94 Organizes Monthly Parent-School Gathering
On February 2nd, the CPC Community School at PS 94 organized a monthly Coffee with the Principal event, offering PS 94 parents the opportunity to engage with school leadership, the CPC Community School team, local partners, and fellow parents. Additionally, parents were able to pick up items from our in-house food pantry and clothing closet.
Education and Career Services Hosts Lunar New Year-themed Teen Night
On February 7th, CPC Education and Career Services held a special Teen Night to celebrate the Year of the Dragon at CPC Beacon at IS 220. The evening included dumpling making, Chinese calligraphy, lantern painting, and plenty of food. This monthly event brings together students from CPC's Brooklyn high school programs for fun activities and friendship building.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee Hosts Lunar New Year Gathering
On February 8th, the CPC Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee organized a Lunar New Year gathering for staff to exchange stories and experiences. Staff were treated to refreshments and provided with arts and craft activities to encourage them to express their creativity.
Brooklyn Community Services Celebrates Lunar New Year With 1000 Guests
On February 24th, over 1000 community members, performers, elected officials, and city agencies joined CPC Brooklyn Community Services’ annual Lunar New Year Celebration. The event featured performances, community resources, and raffle prizes.

CPC Joins United Neighborhood Houses' State Lobby Days in Albany
On February 5th and 6th, CPC, led by President & CEO Wayne Ho and Chief Policy & Public Affairs Officer Carlyn Cowen, participated in United Neighborhood Houses' State Lobby Days in Albany. We collectively focused on advocating for increased funding for the Settlement House Program, securing cost-of-living adjustments for human services workers, and raising wages for home care workers.
CPC Holds 6th Annual State Advocacy Day in Albany
On February 27th, CPC held its 6th Annual State Advocacy Day in Albany, followed by a virtual event on February 28th. Over 350 staff and community members gathered in Albany for discussions with over 50 elected officials regarding budget and legislative priorities aligned with the needs of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI), immigrant, and low-income communities. Key priorities highlighted include fully funding human services, investing in the AAPI Equity Budget, implementing a COLA for human services workers, increasing home care workers’ wages, and more.
CPC Advocates for Equity and Fair Pay at Annual Caucus Weekend
From February 16th to 18th, CPC attended the 53rd Annual Caucus Weekend in Albany to share our legislative and budget priorities, including the AAPI Equity Budget, Just Pay for human services, Fair Pay for Home Care workers, and other investments for our staff and community members. Our team spoke on panels, attended receptions, and connected with allies and elected officials.
CPC Celebrates the 59th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit
On February 29th, CPC held our 59th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit at the House of Joy banquet hall in Chinatown. We raised over $393,000 to empower and uplift over 80,000 Asian American, immigrant, and low-income New Yorkers annually through our core programs and services. Nearly 400 philanthropic, corporate, government, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the Year of the Dragon and honor exceptional individuals for their contributions and dedication to the community.
