The event recognized Mitch Wu, Director of CPC Queens Community Services, and other distinguished AAPI leaders in Queens, for their impacts on the Queens community. On February 2nd, the CPC Community School at PS 94 organized a monthly Coffee with the Principal event, offering PS 94 parents the opportunity to engage with school leadership, the CPC Community School team, local partners, and fellow parents. Additionally, parents were able to pick up items from our in-house food pantry and clothing closet.

Education and Career Services Hosts Lunar New Year-themed Teen Night

On February 7th, CPC Education and Career Services held a special Teen Night to celebrate the Year of the Dragon at CPC Beacon at IS 220. The evening included dumpling making, Chinese calligraphy, lantern painting, and plenty of food. This monthly event brings together students from CPC's Brooklyn high school programs for fun activities and friendship building.

CPC Holds 6th Annual State Advocacy Day in Albany

On February 27th, CPC held its 6th Annual State Advocacy Day in Albany, followed by a virtual event on February 28th. Over 350 staff and community members gathered in Albany for discussions with over 50 elected officials regarding budget and legislative priorities aligned with the needs of the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI), immigrant, and low-income communities. Key priorities highlighted include fully funding human services, investing in the AAPI Equity Budget, implementing a COLA for human services workers, increasing home care workers’ wages, and more.

CPC Celebrates the 59th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit 

On February 29th, CPC held our 59th Annual Lunar New Year Benefit at the House of Joy banquet hall in Chinatown. We raised over $393,000 to empower and uplift over 80,000 Asian American, immigrant, and low-income New Yorkers annually through our core programs and services. Nearly 400 philanthropic, corporate, government, and community leaders gathered to celebrate the Year of the Dragon and honor exceptional individuals for their contributions and dedication to the community.
