New Food and WinePutting fun into ferry rides, boutique brewers 4 Pines have launched bars on Manly ferries, with a choice of food and ale on offer from 4pm until 9pm. The Doss House in The Rocks has had many incarnations, including an opium den and boot maker, but now it's a basement bar with a penchant for whisky. With over 150 bottles, choose your poison and cosy up in one of their five underground nooks. Sydney Pub Tours and Dave’s Pub Walks have fused into one powerful team, Dave's Tours, to provide daily sensory tours of historic pubs in and around Sydney from The Rocks and the Inner West out to the Hunter. For NSW craft beer and artfully turned out Americana-style food, Redline Taphouse and Kitchen is the latest addition to Tramsheds, the much-loved Sydney food destination housed in the historic former Rozelle Tram Depot. Ramen and craft beer at BangBang; pork gyros at Gryadiko Bexley; a classic sanger at The SandWich Shop; Matcha tea at Japanese cafe Matcha-Ya and delicious Sichuan rice at Ricefields. For a culinary experience like no other, Nel Restaurant's eight-course offering changes every six weeks with the latest menu fusing elements of Autumn — envisage an entrée of parsnip, jamón and mushroom. Mudgee’s The Cellar by Gilbert hosts a sommelier-run wine bar to highlight top local wines on Friday and Saturday nights until 10pm. Guests can enjoy a curated wine, beer and cider list with a selection of small plates inside the intimate tasting room. New AccommodationFor a luxurious stay in vast and serene bushland, the Broken Hill Outback Resort will open the doors to 22 brand new king-sized cabins in late June. The Veriu Central hotel in Sydney’s Surry Hills has officially launched. Just 300 metres from Central Station, the new 112-room hotel is a $15 million conversion of the heritage-listed Wentworth House and offers cleverly designed contemporary rooms and a vibrant dining precinct. Now celebrating its 15th anniversary, the global fashion event has gained momentum year after year and brought our Aussie design talent to the forefront of this competitive industry. This year’s MBFWA will be opened by Camilla and Marc (designer Camilla Freeman-Topper pictured above) on Sunday 13 May and over 45 designers will be presenting their Resort 2019 collections over the week. On the main Saturday, the cattle competition is followed by a live auction plus rides, rodeos and many more fun events like the popular and free Breakfast with the Butchers. 20 - 25 May: Lismore is proud to be hosting the 2018 Australian Senior League Championship in May at Albert Park. The championship will feature Senior League teams from across Australia over a six-day tournament. 20 May: Brocklesby Bush Dash is a fun run organised by the Brocklesby Public School P&C Committee to raise funds to enhance the education and facilities for the students. The fun run has three events: 24 - 27 May: One of Australia’s premier mountain bike stage races, The Port to Port MTB, will return this year. The race includes challenging climbs, thrilling descents and all the best single tracks throughout the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie. 28 May - 10 June: Held at Tamworth's spectacular $38 million dollar Australian Equine, Livestock & Events Centre and offering an estimated $700,000 in prizes, the NCHA Cutting Futurity is the largest indoor sporting horse event in the Southern Hemisphere. 2 - 3 June: Highlighting the stunning natural terrain of the Hawkesbury, True Grit is a military-style obstacle course designed by Australian Special Forces, which takes competitors through about 30 obstacles over 12 kilometres.
